Description
Artist Francisco Toledo spent nearly five decades building a private mythology of animals, insects and folklore rooted in his native Zapotec culture. In her foreword Kate Bonansinga writes “Toledo invents an animated cosmos all his own.” This catalog was published following his first U.S. exhibition in 2007. It surveys his career across painting, print, ceramic sculpture and tapestry. It includes images of the artist’s work and essays by Howard Campbell and Joachim Homann
