Trépanier Trapezoid Kit
Designed by Canadian kite artist Robert Trépanier, this flat, sturdy, easy to make kite is accessible for people of all ages. The large sail area makes it fun to decorate with markers, crayons or ink. The central vent (hole) helps to stabilize the kite’s flight, and can be incorporated into the decorative design.
This simple kit contains sails, bamboo spars, lines and winders. You supply scissors and tape. Assembled kits are shown with printed patterns for display purposes, kites will ship with white paper sails.
Recommended Age: All ages. This kite is a perfect match for kite making booths at kite festivals and creative events.
Decoration: The simplest method would be to use marker pens, but substituting the bond paper for more interesting light weight paper with color or patterns would work. Note: do not increase the weight of the paper, matching the weight of the bond paper supplied is critical in the flight of this kite.
Ideal wind conditions for this kite: Light (flag on a pole gently moving, not fluttering) to Medium (a flag on a pole is steadily moving, fluttering).
Classroom Curriculum & Lesson Plans: Light (flag on a pole gently moving, not fluttering) to Medium (a flag on a pole is steadily moving, fluttering).
