Kono Bell Tetrahedral Kit

$15.00$140.00

Designed by kite artist Greg Kono, this re-creation of Alexander Graham Bell’s tetrahedral kite is fun to build and fly! The structure gives young students good practice in hand building and assembly, and offers lots of room to decorate the sail. Historical relevance and scientific inquiry abound with this kite. Assembling many kits together can yield a huge kite, hundreds of module’s in size similar to Bell’s original Cygnet or Frost King.

Kit contains sails, tails, matchstick bamboo spars, connectors, lines and winders. You supply scissors and glue. Assembled kits are shown with printed patterns for display purposes, kites will ship with white paper sails.

Decoration: Use markers or substitute the bond paper for colored or patterned light weight paper. Note: do not increase the weight of the paper, matching the weight of the bond paper supplied is critical in the flight of this kite.

Assembly: Multiple kits can be assembled together to create a single large kite. Alexander Graham Bell famously assembled over 3300 modules for his Cygnet kite.

Ideal wind conditions for this kite: Medium (a flag on a pole is steadily moving.)
