1991 Kite Pin Invitational

Kite pin collecting, otherwise known as cloisonné mania, has swept the American kite world in the last few years. The origin of the craze is obscure (“hard to pin down,” in a manner of speaking), but the consequences are apparent for all to observe: kite hats and jackets festooned with the brightly colored little pins that show off beautiful kites, commemorate festivals, advertise shops and individual kitemakers and generally make a statement to the world that kites are wonderful.

A 52 page catalog of world class kitemakers commissioned to make pins commemorate kiting. The collection of these collectors items is a delightful pastime.
